Transitional Spaces
Our installation explores how transitional spaces serve as bridges between past and future, between public and private, between tradition and innovation. In Chiba, a city grappling with aging demographics and seeking to maintain its vitality, these spatial transitions take on particular significance. The traditional Japanese house, perched atop a modern commercial building, becomes a metaphor for the broader transitions the city faces.
Through carefully composed audiovisual sequences, we create a temporal montage that flows between past, present, and future. Each temporal layer is enhanced by distinct soundscapes that deepen the spatial experience, creating an immersive environment that amplifies the surprise and wonder inherent in the space.
