「Lucio+Damiao」hosted a solo exhibition titled「线象 Line-nomenon」showcasing generative art at Atelier Bois Shanghai from January 20 to February 3, 2024.

"Line-nomenon" is a series of physical generative artworks created by 「Lucio+Damiao」. Generative art, a genre employing computer programming, intentionally incorporating randomness as part of its creative process.

"Line-nomenon" visually articulates the information exchange in the algorithmic era: seemingly interconnected, free-flowing, and rich, yet resembling isolated islands forming closed loops. In the contemporary age of material abundance and information overload, our inner worlds are particularly solitary, and the joys and sorrows of humanity do not resonate with each other. In his work "The Human Use of Human Beings," N. Wiener stated, "In a world tending toward destruction, life is an island here and now." "Line-nomenon" seeks to express the "island" state of life.

By infusing a string of code with vitality, the physical versions of "Line-nomenon" attempt to explore the delicate fusion between machine-like precision and the random yet crafted textures created by human hands.

"Line-nomenon X Laser Weaving" features an instantaneous interaction of laser cutting and layered spray paint;

"Line-nomenon | Laser Weaver X Mirroring Slumber"* involves a back-and-forth integration of laser cutting and oil painting;

"Line-nomenon | Blossoms SE" explores the presentation of the computer's "layer" concept in the material world, revealing the spatial texture of digital generative art through the stacking of layers in three dimensions.
